Worries or the Present Moment

Dan: It’s 7 am on Saturday. And I’m worried... I’m worried about where I’ll live when I’m in California, although I have people there waiting to help me find a place once I get there. I’m worried about how my parents and siblings will make it through my mom’s illness, although we have doctors already  helping and siblings already planning their trips to Dallas. I’m worried about how my kids will manage in Harrisburg without me, although they all are actively and responsibly taking steps to determine their own futures. Ridiculously, I’m even worried that my worries will prevent me from enjoying this trip to California. I guess that, in all these cases, I’m so worried about what the future will be, that I’m about to miss experiencing the Present Moment. That’s a message we hear all the time – in fact it was even in my dreams last night – but it’s clearly a message that I need to hear right now. OK, I’ll listen. We leave for California in 2 hours. Wish us luck!

You'll be in our thoughts for sure! And in our hearts. Make the most of it, life is too short to worry about things that other people can worry about!
